James and Zujey Watts Newsletters from Peru: BELOW

From the Pen of James Watts

Hi all,

We are doing well with the new location. I still have to assemble 4 more bunk beds, hang curtains and paint. I haven't done anything in about 4 or 5 days due to extreme pain in my hip. I went to a clinic yesterday and am doing somewhat better with the meds. I am suppose to go for 8 consecutive physical therapy sessions starting Monday. Please pray for my health.

Things in Pucallpa are going good. Pastor Abdias is still in Brazil visiting his churches etc. He is supposed to come and stay a day or two when he arrives to Lima. We need to talk and plan and he wants to see the new base.

Milena is very happy with Lugar Feliz and says that the kids are very regular in attendance. There is only about 25 compared to the 40 we had estimated but it is more important that they are interested and attending. We plan a dental campaign on the site in June.

I have a visitor coming in May. He is investigating the possibility of bringing a church group from PA in May 2008. The church has been established for about 60 years but have not been involved in missions. He says that he was elected to start a missions movement in his church and was very moved when he visited our website. Please pray that God will mold our hearts and spirits together for this new work.

Our first real group to Lima will be in June. They are dentist and dental students from the US and Europe. Then the youth group from Umatilla First Baptist will be here in July. They will be working in Lima as well as Pucallpa with light construction, child evangelism and craft workshops.

In September we have another dental team from the US, Europe and New Zealand. Sarah Howells who worked with us last year in Pucallpa will be heading up this team. We will be working in Lima, Pucallpa and on the Ucayali river.

I am trying to put together a medical group for December. If you know of anyone who would like to lead that group, please get in touch with me. Please pray for all of these groups as we use their help and presence to open doors and hearts for spreading the gospel.

We now have the van in Lima. It was slightly damaged during the shipping but nothing serious. As soon as I can get all of the documentation squared away and a new windshield installed, we will be starting our new children's ministry in the streets of Huascar, Canto Grande. We will be doing bible classes and feeding at that site. It is near where Zujey's mom and aunt live and they will be working with us so that they can take it over in the future. Please pray for the hearts and minds of the mom's and the children of the area.

That's about it for now. Thank you all so much for your prayers, encouragement and support! It's because of you that we can continue to fulfill our calling here in Peru.

May His Grace and Peace be Yours,

James
